As a general commercial litigator, Marco handles a wide variety of contract and business disputes concerning:

  • breach of contract and other contract actions
  • the design and construction of buildings, and the construction industry
  • business tort (including unfair competition and European competition law)
  • corporate and partnership matters, and
  • insolvency and bankruptcy.

In 2008 Marco successfully completed the post graduate specialization course in Insolvency Law at the acclaimed Grotius Academy of the University of Nijmegen.

Marco is appointed regularly by the District Court of Amsterdam to act as Official Receiver in insolvencies.
In this capacity Marco:

  • realizes assets of insolvent companies and bankrupts
  • investigates and agrees on creditor’s claims, and
  • distributes the proceeds.

Furthermore, Marco investigates the affairs of bankrupts, directors and officers of insolvent companies, reports to the Court on causes of business failures and when appropriate takes legal action against persons for insolvency offences.
