Racket Centre de Geeren: a place where sports and enjoyment go hand in hand

Baarn-based Racketcentrum de Geeren is known for its balance between sporting effort and the accompanying relaxation. At the sports centre, which was founded on 1 September 1982, there is space for playing tennis, squash and badminton. The facilities are of a high standard and are always perfectly maintained. This applies to the indoor and outdoor courts as well as the changing and shower rooms.

In addition to the sports facilities, there is also a bar, lounge area and sunny terrace that provide added value for athletes. The centre also has an important function within the municipality of Baarn, where it is regularly used as a venue for parties and gatherings.

Baarn Tennis Association de Geeren: high-quality accommodation

Baarn Tennis Association de Geeren, like Racketcentrum de Geeren, was founded on 1 September 1982. The association is located on the complex of Racketcentrum de Geeren. The association has ten gravel courts (outdoors), 7 of which are floodlit. The more than 600 (youth) members can play tennis on high-quality accommodation and improve their level. The club is characterised by a friendly and open atmosphere, where everyone feels at home. The purchase of Racketcentrum de Geeren is a nice step forward for the sports complex, which will be further developed into a high-quality and inviting complex within the municipality of Baarn.

‘We have been here for 40 years, and I still want to come here in 40 years’ time”

Tamara Schothorst, president of Baarn Tennis Association de Geeren says on BaarnscheCourant that she is very happy that the deal is complete: ‘The heirs of Rob van den Broek, who passed away at the end of last year, transferred the tennis park to our association. It was also an explicit wish of Van den Broek to have his life’s work continue in the hands of the association.”

Schothorst continued: “We have a long history, we have been here for more than forty years, and I still want to be here in forty years. We want to be healthy and reinvest the income in the racquet centre.”
