Campbell Burns

Campbell is an Australian lawyer practising (international) commercial law and corporate law in the Netherlands. He is a lawyer (admitted in New South Wales, Australia), who has been practising in the Netherlands since 2019. Campbell’s knowledge of both Dutch law and Australian law puts him in a unique position to assist clients with cross-border matters.

Campbell is a member of Blenheim’s International Team, comprising foreign associates admitted in Germany, South Africa and Australia.


Campbell advises on, drafts and negotiates international commercial contracts, works on domestic and cross-border corporate transactions and advises on and represents clients in international commercial arbitration.

Track Record

Education and prior activities:

  • Law graduate from the University of New South Wales, Australia (Honours Class 1). 
  • Assisted Deputy State Coroner Harriet Grahame in the landmark 2019 New South Wales inquest into six deaths arising at music festivals. 

Notable matters include: 

  • Assisting a client with the expansion of its Dutch business networking concept to Asia through the establishment and roll-out of a franchising system.
  • Advising on, and assisting in the negotiations of, a multi-million dollar international agreement regarding the development and sale of machinery. 
  • Assisting in the representation of a client in arbitral proceedings under the NAI Arbitration Rules relating to a dispute regarding the interpretation of a commercial contract in light of Covid-19.
  • Advising a Dutch supplier on a multi-million-dollar distribution agreement with an American toys wholesaler.


Campbell is a member of:

  • The Young Arbitrators Forum of the International Chamber of Commerce.


Campbell is a native English speaker, but also has a working knowledge of Italian and Dutch.
